Back when I was working on my Ph.D. in English, people would ask me, “So what are you going to do with that?” It was a good question. But I’ve found a pretty good answer in the years since I opted out of a tenure-track professorship and into a career in marketing. The humanities, after all, are about understanding how humans think, feel, and act.

And that’s really important in a field that’s all about getting people to think, feel, and act in specific ways.

I’ve helped brands like HP, Charles Schwab, Silicon Valley Bank, Comcast, Fred Meyer, KinderCare Education and more understand and connect with their audiences.

I love that I get to work with creative people to solve problems and connect dots. I thrive on forging clarity out of complexity, because that’s what makes it possible to zero in on the real goal of creative work: to move people.
